“ Cozy, family-style restaurant with delicious food! I had the guy fieri plate, a beef empanada, and a tamal. All were very yummy! ”
“ Found this Peruvian restaurant randomly on Yelp. Didn't know it is very famous and had been on many magazine recommendations before. Food is very good and big portion. I got the Lomo saltado, classic Peruvian. Lots of beef and potatoes. Good flavor of stir fry. To help u digest you can drink some chicha morada. Don't see this corn drink in many places. Apparently Guy Fieri been here too and he loves it. Don't know if his opinion matters to u or not. For parking, since this is in a small shopping center, there is plenty of parking. And bus stop is right next to it. ”
“ I would like to first of all say that as an Ecuadorian, I am envious of how delicious the Peruvian food made here is. Never in my life had I known about what salsa a la Huancaina was until i tried it there and now it has become one of my most favorite things. The Causa is amazing, in addition to the tamales, anticuchos, ensalada criolla, lomo saltado, corvina, Yuca frita which pairs amazingly with the huancaina sauce, etc. These are among a few of the items that I have tried, and if you are looking for delicious food, relaxing atmosphere, and great portions, make a stop! I shall definitely be returning hungry for more. Que viva Peru, y Ecuador ! :) ”
“ So I got to try this place last night for birthday and it was SOOO good! You guys know I love a great "hole in the wall" type of place (they always have the best food) Taste of Peru was no exception. It's a very unassuming place but Inside and very warm. All the pictures and articles on the wall give it a home like vibe. I don't remember the waitresses name, but she was super sweet and very accommodating. I was in a no nonsense mood and order the Pollo al Vino. It's chicken stewed in Chablis wine, carrots , raisins, olives and sweet peas and it's served with rice .. ohhhhmyygaaaawd!!! The simplest foods have the best flavor!! It's a hearty meal without being overpowering . The flavors were mild and strong in just the right spots. I do believe there was some onion in there somewhere as well. Super super delicious! It was a bit of a hike for me seeing that I'm in the Pilsen area, but it was 100% worth it! 10/10 would absolutely go back and try some more things! Thank you guys for a great meal! Happy Holidays! ”
“ First time trying Peruvian food. This was a super cute restaurant that embodied the culture of Peru. The waitstaff were very kind and patient. This place is BYOB so we enjoyed our bottle of Chardonnay with our meal. I tried the papa rellena (stuffed mashed potatoes), the anticuchos (cow heart skewer), and the lomo saltado My favorite was the lomo saltado. The flavors on the meat and veggies was to die for. I recommend this business for anyone who likes Peruvian food or would like to try it for the first time. ”
“ Great friendly staff, large portions, food was flavorful, and nice ambiance. Lomo saltado was a repeat order from last year; I loved it too much to venture to another dish. Maybe next time. Ceviche was nice and fresh. ”
“ As delicious as the appetizers were, don't plan to order them unless you haven't eaten all day. The portion sizes are HUGE, and while it isn't a bad thing, my eyes were certainly bigger than my stomach. The tamal and kebabs were SO good. Definitely one of my favorite spots for chicken now. The Lomo Saltado was the perfect bite: a mix of everything starchy, fatty, and yummy. Definitely a dish I'm going to be dreaming about. One of the first places I had to take my phone out at during the meal just to tell folks about it. Will definitely be coming back. ”
“ I love this place, empanadas are the best. I like the rice with seafood. Authentic Peruvian, I also liked how the waitstaff and cooks were enjoying themselves and clearly all friendly with each other if not actual friends. It's a cozy place and the decor makes me think it's been here a long time... in fact I think I may have been here 25 or 30 years ago. I don't know what took me so long to come back, but it's definitely a place I'll return to soon. Try to not fill up on the bread. ”
“ Fantastic Peruvian food! The loma saltado is so cravable! Such tender beef we could still cut it with a fork after microwaving it the next morning. And you would think white rice would be just a basic kind of side, but the rice tastes like it has a stick of butter in it. So yeah. Best white rice ever. Which goes just great with the beef-soaked fries. No, it is not the healthiest thing you could eat. But you're in too deep now. We were split on the chicken tamal. I thought it was great, but my dining partner thought the chicken tasted like canned chicken meat and didn't like the flavor or texture of the cornmeal. It was very pudding-like. Don't order it expecting anything like Mexican tamales. The ceviche especial lives up to the name. Fresh, briny shellfish with perfect levels of acidity. Between that and the chicken tamal appetizer, we had to bring most of the loma saltado home. Big portions. Pro tip: Heat up the remaining loma saltado the next morning and put a fried egg on it for a delicious breakfast that only has a 60% or 70% chance of inducing a heat attack. Very small, very homey atmosphere. Not remotely fancy, but clean and comfortable for a weeknight, half-assed kind of date. One server covering all the tables: Friendly and helpful, but you'll have to flag her down pretty hard. I'm a little concerned that she should see a doctor about her peripheral vision problem. ”
